For fans of the Im a Geek Comic Strip, I have some huge news for you, so listen up.
The Im a Geek Comic Strip will go on for a shortened 3rd season and a new zombie Halloween storyline. Bad news is that after the shortened 3rd season, it will be put on indefinate hiatus. I've got some Q&A to answer regarding the news...
Q: Can you explain or what were the influences into making this decision?
A: There was a lot of thought into the process. First, we do not have a steady artist, and I don't have the time (or skills) to draw the comic strip. I have been fortunate enough to ask friends to contribute to the series, but that can only last so long. Plus, I'm getting busier with expanding my project load, and I really wanted to start doing some freelance work soon to expand my skill set.
Q: What does that mean for the characters?
A: A lot! This does not mean that the characters will die or anything, besides James. I will be doing a live action series based off the characters of the Im a Geek Comic Strip called Im a Geek Shorts, which will star the people who influenced the characters, Smitty, Lee and Bigg E, along with other new characters. Also, you might have noticed that Jessie has become the face of Geeky Fempire on Geeky Universe. So the characters will have a huge influence on Geeky Universe, even if they aren't in comic strip mode.
I will also drop a possible spoiler in the fact that I might be writing a feature movie starring Smitty and Lee, and their crazy adventures.
Q: What are you feeling about putting Im a Geek CS on hiatus?
A: It's hard. I think we found a new, good, stable home at Geeky Universe and I finally found my groove in writing this comic strip. It took me a while to find my groove in mixing geeky debates and establishing a bond with the characters. I have a huge vision for the comic strip, and even got a story line planned out for a while, but it was not meant to be at this point. Hopefully in the near future.
Before you get too gloomy, the third season is going to start in the next few months and will have the best story line in it's history. Also, we will soon after collect the series and release it in print. There will be new updates and extra commentary from me.
